I can guarantee that if you’re reading this, you’re probably one of very few. Not because not many people read my Ninja In A Blazer emails, but more because as we close in on Christmas, people tend to switch off their real estate searches and start looking towards Christmas and activities with friends and family.

I completely understand this. I’ve known the home buyers shopping around Christmas looking for bargains at this time, knowing there’s going to be less buyers looking.

I generally recommend people holding off going to market who are considering coming to market in December with their homes as we know how important the first 2 weeks in a marketing campaign are.

What we do know is that in December the views on realestate.com.au drop significantly and in January the views on realestate.com.au spike back up. I don’t expect this year to be any different.

If you’re someone who’s looking to buy and is hoping to get a bargain, now is the time to buy. At the end of the day bargains are only really available when a seller accepts a lower offer – generally this is when they HAVE TO sell. At the end of the day, many sellers don’t have to sell and they’re choosing to sell due to work or lifestyle changes, which means they wont accept just any offer.
